We wish to increase the comfort of our guests in the The Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences at Szeged with reception duty being at our guests’ service 24 hours a day. You can address our employees at any time of day, who will immediately do the necessary measures.
Our guests may occupy their accommodation after 2:00 a.m.
Breakfast:
The breakfast and the mineral water in the refrigerator is included in the room-price. The breakfast is served in the hall at the 2nd floor from 7:00 till 9:00 a.m. within weekdays. The cold breakfast is previously prepared in the refrigerator in weekends.
Our guests also have unlimited access to the kitchen in the ground floor. You can find electric-cooker, microwave oven and other equipment in the kitchen.
You  have a possibility to print with our printer; you only need to arrange the paper supply.
Internet connection is available in every room.
Our guests who have arrived by car can park their vehicles in the street. Due to our location in the centre (downtown) parking is being charged in the weekdays. A chargeable parking system is in force in Szeged. You should buy parking tickets in advance, tear out the perforation containing the information of the date and time and put it into the vehicle in a visible place. (Important: vehicles without parking ticket are being either carried away or charged with a penalty!)

History of the building:

The hotel was built in 1885 at its present location, since then it has been functioning as a hotel. The hotel was given the name "Tisza" in honour of president Kálmán Tisza when it was opened in 1886. Later in 1949 the hotel was closed, after the renovation of the whole building it was reopened to the public on July 30, 1963.
The new owners refurnished the hotel, maintaining its historical atmosphere and installing many modern services but still reminding us of the turn of the century, and consequently Tisza Hotel has become the most well-known and popular hotel in Szeged.

The Familia Pension is located in Szeged at a distance of 200 meters from the 500-year-old Mátyás Church, a couple of minutes walk from Dóm square (the Votive Church) and the railroad station, in a place that is easily accessibee. Since the opening in 1992, our pension has 24 variously priced rooms with a total capacity of 52 guests. In addition to single and double rooms, rooms for three and four persons are also available, providing ideal accommodation for families arriving with children.
